As was probably expected by even the ones who originally estimated the cost of Katrina,
in turns out that it will end costing
far less than was originally thought.
WASHINGTON (AP) – The federal government’s tab for hurricane relief and rebuilding
efforts is likely to come to less than $150 billion, Congress’ top budget analyst
said Thursday. That would be far less than original estimates made just after the
storm.
Now the original way off base estimate was 300 – 400 billion.
