La Shawn Barber has an excellent post, Jim
Crow Redux. Writing about how affirmative action, racial preferences and
best intentions without expectations of responsibility, set up a lifetime of dependents.
How does it go, “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish
and he eats for a lifetime.”
The problem with the socialist plan is that they only considered the first part of
that. So the end result is a whole host of dependents.
I hope this is beginning to change.
People can never truly be free until they can be independent and self-reliant. Unfortunately
as long as the government continues to give away the fish and not teaching how to
fish, it will not.
Socialism has eventually failed every time it has been tried.
