It was kind of odd but it seems that Newsweek has allowed an opposing view on the ridiculus article they allowed on Global Warming.

INTRODUCING Newsweek’s Aug. 13 cover story on global warming “denial,” editor Jon Meacham brings up an embarrassing blast from his magazine’s past: an April 1975 story about global cooling, and the coming ice age that scientists then were predicting. Meacham concedes that “those who doubt that greenhouse gases are causing significant climate change have long pointed to the 1975 Newsweek piece as an example of how wrong journalists and researchers can be.” But rather than acknowledge that the skeptics may have a point, Meacham dismisses it.
“On global cooling,” he writes, “there was never anything even remotely approaching the current scientific consensus that the world is growing warmer because of the emission of greenhouse gases.”
Really? Newsweek took rather a different line in 1975. Then, the magazine reported that scientists were “almost unanimous” in believing that the looming Big Chill would mean a decline in food production, with some warning that “the resulting famines could be catastrophic.” Moreover, it said, “the evidence in support of these predictions” — everything from shrinking growing seasons to increased North American snow cover — had “begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it.”
Yet Meacham, quoting none of this, simply brushes aside the 1975 report as “alarmist” and “discredited.” Today, he assures his readers, Newsweek’s climate-change anxieties rest “on the safest of scientific ground.”
So if your are waisting your time praying at the alter of the Global Warming Religion then you only have yourself to blame.

It seems the Global Warming debate is really starting to heat even more.
I think it is a good thing of course but it seems some on the left consider it a bad thing. They are the ones of course who feel no more debate is needed. Global Warming is a fact and nothing more need be said on the issue. They are right and all the rest of us are mere deniers.

NASA has now silently released corrected figures, and the changes are truly astounding. The warmest year on record is now 1934. 1998 (long trumpeted by the media as record-breaking) moves to second place. 1921 takes third. In fact, 5 of the 10 warmest years on record now all occur before World War II. Anthony Watts has put the new data in chart form, along with a more detailed summary of the events.
The effect of the correction on global temperatures is minor (some 1-2% less warming than originally thought), but the effect on the US global warming propaganda machine could be huge.
It is always funny how the left speaks of freedom of speech and allowing for debate, blah, blah, blah. But when it really gets down to it, they are only talking about the speech they want to hear and the debate is the one they want to have.
Thankfully for the internet and talk radio, those of us who do not share the same opinion of our friends on the left, cannot and will not be silenced. The longer this debate continues, the more the true facts of global warming come to the surface.
The debate is far from over.

The weather forecast for Saturday’s global warming rallies in Grand Rapids and Holland calls for snow and cold rain and temperatures in the 40s — about 10 degrees below normal.
For some, this might make global warming a tough sell.
“I’ve thought of that,” said Lisa Locke, associate director of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, which is organizing the three Grand Rapids “Step it Up” rallies.
“I think that’s an easy excuse, but if we’re really reasonable about it, we’re not talking about individual weather on individual days,” Locke said. “We’re talking about something much larger, on a global scale, which science has been tracking for decades.”
I suppose the journalist of this press release in an effort to be fair and give some ink to the opposition decided to add this throw away line near the end of the article.
Opponents in the debate say natural events such as solar activity are causing the warm-up.
I expressed to him in an email that I thought he was “too kind” for the mention. And so goes the religion of Global Warming. So what is the point of debating a forgone conclusion except that it’s not.
