The United States Department of Unintended Consequences

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

This is the department that handles all of the issues that arise from all of the laws that stupid politicians pass trying to stick it to the rich man/business/ evil corporations, that inevitably end up screwing the ones the were intended to help.

Idiots!

Insuring Preexisting Health Issues

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Forcing an insurance company to insure preexisting health issues is like taking out a life insurance policy on a person that is already dead.

Do you really think you are going to find a company that would be willing to do that?

Do you really think the government should force a company to do that?

Do you really think the government should force the rest of us who can, pay for those who can’t?

I might be crazy, but I don’t think so.

President Obama Hates America

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

If President Obama was interested in doing something about putting Americans back to work, he would be having a summit on coming up with a plan. Instead he is having a summit to reform health care that the vast majority of America has already rejected.

This guy is an idiot.

Reagan’s 99th Birthday

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Reagan is a great conservative hero for what he wasn’t as well as for what he was. In an era when people thought the entree to political leadership was a degree from an elite university and a lifetime spent currying favor and working within the establishment, Reagan was a small-town Midwesterner who’d gone to an obscure college and spent most of his adult life doing other things: a sportscaster, an actor, a pundit. He was well into middle age before he got into electoral politics.

3 Things to Make Socialism Successful

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

This is, I am sure not a complete list, but 3 item that I think would be required to make Socialism a success.

  1. Everyone involved has to agree for the greater cause. Those that don’t, will be dealt with.
  2. Everyone has to contribute for the greater cause. Those that don’t, will be dealt with.
  3. Everyone has to sacrifice for the greater cause. Those that don’t, will be dealt with.

If anyone can get more than 10 grown adults to go along with this, you are on your way.

Sadly, socialism only works in controlled environments like, families, small groups, companies, cults and small communities. Even more sad, it usually only works partially at best.

This biggest problem with trying to get Socialism to work is the pesky desire of the human spirit to be free and live as they please without much interference.

Just saying.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

An Instapundit reader sent a proposed Amendment to the Constitution.

I like it. Maybe it will keep them from passing so many laws that line their own pockets.

Black Eyed Peas, Cabbage and Corn Bread

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Black Eyed Peas, Cabbage and Corn Bread consumed. 2010, it’s going to be a good year.

We used the bone from the Christmas Ham along with the left over ham in the black eyed peas. Of course sauteed some bacon for the cabbage and made the corm bread in the cast iron skillet.

We even made Smores, roasting the Marsh Mellows over the hot coals of the fire place. That’s gonna make it a great year.

Happy New Year Everyone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Lisa Marie McDonald, Chicago, Ill

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I went to City College in Ft. Lauderdale with Lisa. She was about the only persons name I could remember.

I took a shot in the dark and looked her up on Facebook December 1st. Found someone who I thought looked like her and sent a message. She replied asking for more clues and I replied. Soon there after she friend-ed me and it was done.

After some emails back and forth catching up I settled in, happy with connecting with a long lost colleague.

Then came along December 2nd. I thought I would make a comment on her wall, but for some reason she was not to be found. I checked and I was a friend short and sure enough she was gone.

To verify this, I sent her this message:

Dude, did you kick me out of your club?

Was it because you found out that I am a right-wing nut job?

I am not really though, I am just a limited government conservative that believes in people helping people and not government helping people.

If so, I am sad to lose the connection, but it is what it is.

She soon after replied with this message:

I’m sorry, but some of the anti-Muslim comments on your page really offended me. Also the fact that you call the president “dear leader’, but refuse to actually listen to him speak. He’s not my favorite person right now, but I listen to his speeches, just like I listened to every single one of Bush’s. I’m afraid that I just can’t tolerate people that don’t pay attention and form their opinions based on their own inner beliefs rather than fact.

Your right wing beliefs I’m cool with, but your celebration of judgement and bias without due diligence I am not.

Before I could offer a rebuttal, she had completely cut off any ability I had to reply. For if she had not been so quick to judgement and bias without due diligence, she could have realized that I am on the internet just about every waking hour, reading my political blogs, news sites and listening to streaming audio of talk show through out the day. Some might call it an obsession.

So I thought I would offer my rebuttal here and reply as I would have if she had not cut me off.

Here goes;

I’m sorry, but some of the anti-Muslim comments on your page really offended me.

- These comments are not mine but of commenter’s on my page. I don’t agree with them but I am not about to censor the speech of someone else. Those are their beliefs and not necessarily mine.

Also the fact that you call the president “dear leader’, but refuse to actually listen to him speak. He’s not my favorite person right now, but I listen to his speeches, just like I listened to every single one of Bush’s.

- I do refer to him as ‘dear leader’ for obvious reasons, but I do listen and read all of what he has to say. I just choose not to do it during my prime time TV time.

I’m afraid that I just can’t tolerate people that don’t pay attention and form their opinions based on their own inner beliefs rather than fact.

- If only she had been a little more tolerant and was not so quick to judge based on her own inner beliefs rather than fact, we could have remained friends.

It is what it is though.

Maybe one day if she every reads this, we can reconnect and try again to be friends who don’t necessarily agree.

If I only allowed friends on Facebook that agreed with me, needless to say it would be me and a couple of other folks.

I like people that don’t agree with me. It makes for some stimulating conversations.

Going Galt for Christmas

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

In light of these horrible economic times and the efforts of the US Congress and Administration trying to make it worse, I am going Galt this Holiday Season.

I will not be participating or at least cutting back as much as possible this year, in the over commercialization of the Holiest of Holy Seasons.

For those of you not familiar with Going Galt here is a short explanation:

Expression for undergoing a voluntary financial strike or decrease in income. An individual might choose to do this in order to protest the amount of money going to the government, or to protest what they feel are unfair taxes (if they earn less, they will be taxed less, therefore hurting the government). The term is taken from a character in Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged”; the main character John Galt leads a movement where the wealthiest individuals leave their jobs for low-paying jobs in order to protest the socialist economy.

A Government Option

by any other name is still a government option. Oh and it will still suck is comparison to a private option.

Thought Crimes

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I was listening to the radio this morning and it just brought to mind that we are prosecuting people these days based upon thought.

Oh, you might refer to these as Hate Crimes.

If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it’s free.

Everything has a Price

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

To allow the government to have more control over our health care responsibilities and the trillions of dollars it will cost, is nothing in comparison to the Freedom and Liberty we will have to surrender.

Soon I won’t have to worry about a thing

Happy New Year 2009

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Well, I was thinking back on it today and realized that every year of my life has been better than the last. So with that in mind I have no reason to believe that 2009 will not be better. No matter what the media tries to tell otherwise.

GOP Calling

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Yes, some poor sob called me from the GOP yesterday and had the nerve to ask me to support the party financially that does not support me in ideals and the things that I believe in. In essence I told them to go to hell.

Parental Responsibility

Friday, November 28th, 2008

I have been hearing this term “parental responsibility” going around quite a bit lately. This is funny in the sense that the government continues to relieve parents of responsibility through insane social policy and social programs.

Think about it and discuss.
