Name that Party in New Orleans

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Read through this USA Today article and see if the party affiliation comes up even once.

New Orleans corruption cases multiply

Remember, if the party affiliation is not mentioned, assume they were democrats.

The War Must Be Going Great

Monday, October 1st, 2007

How can you tell a war is going great under the leadership of a Republican President?

You stop hearing about it on the TV News Show.

US military deaths in Iraq lowest in 14 months

US military losses in Iraq for September stood at 70 on Sunday, the lowest monthly figure since July last year, according to an AFP tally based on Pentagon figures.

The figure also marks the fourth consecutive drop in the monthly death toll following a high of 121 in May. June saw 93 deaths, July 82 and August 79. The monthly toll in July 2006 was 53.

Two US soldiers were killed on Saturday in separate incidents, pushing the overall toll of American losses since the March 2003 invasion to 3,801.

Why do they always have to find a downer to through in every story. You play with fire, you get burn. You fight in war and some end up getting hurt or even worse.

When all of this is looked back on by an honest historians eye, one of the things that will be found is the extremely low death rate of this war for the soldiers. The evidence is there, you just won’t hear the media reporting it.

Hey Katie Couric: Shut Up

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

…and just read the news.

I don’t want to know what you think and what you have to say. Just read the news, because you are nothing more than a news reader.

From the Examiner: Couric weighs in on Iraq, Rather

Speaking at the National Press Club Tuesday evening, CBS “Evening News” anchor Katie Couric pulled back the curtain on her personal views of both the war in Iraq and former “Evening News” anchor Dan Rather.

“Everyone in this room would agree that people in this country were misled in terms of  the rationale of this war,” said Couric, adding  that it is “pretty much accepted” that the war in Iraq was a mistake.

Hey Katie, you don’t speak for me. I do not feel I was misled in terms of the rationale of this war. I do feel that you and your cohorts in the media have been trying to twist the truth to make that true, but just because that is what you believe does not make it so.

“I’ve never understood why [invading Iraq] was so high on the administration’s agenda when terrorism was going on in Afghanistan and Pakistan and that [Iraq] had no true connection with al Qaeda.”

You never understood because you may be an idiot. Sorry, buy you can have all of the education in the world and know everything about everything. It still does not prevent you from being an idiot.

You are a grossly over paid news reader. Read the news and shut the hell up.

Hey al Reuters!

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Ever wrote a story and provided the full context.

Mandela still alive after embarrassing Bush remark

In a speech defending his administration’s Iraq policy, Bush said former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s brutality had made it impossible for a unifying leader to emerge and stop the sectarian violence that has engulfed the Middle Eastern nation.

“I heard somebody say, Where’s Mandela?’ Well, Mandela’s dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas,” Bush, who has a reputation for verbal faux pas, said in a press conference in Washington on Thursday.

So for clarification on what this is all about, maybe al Reuters would ask advice from a terrific blogger, Captain Ed.

It has become apparent that some journalists covering President Bush either have a learning disability or work extra hard to twist his words until the reporters turn into novelists. The latest to prove this theory correct works for Reuters, which sent out a story that claimed George Bush thought that Nelson Mandela had died, when in fact Bush used an analogy that clearly sailed over Reuters’ head.

Dan Rather looking to clear his name.

Well good luck with that. He will forever be known for being an idiot and nothing is going to change that.

This will certainly breath new life to Rathergate.com. That’s a good thing.

Dan Rather Files Lawsuit Against CBS

Dan Rather filed a $70 million lawsuit Wednesday against CBS, alleging that the network made him a “scapegoat” for a discredited story about President Bush’s National Guard service.

The 75-year-old Rather, whose final months were clouded by controversy over the report, says the complaint stems from “CBS’ intentional mishandling” of the aftermath of the story.

The lawsuit, filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, also names CBS President and CEO Leslie Moonves, Viacom Inc., Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone and former CBS News President Andrew Heyward. (At the time Viacom Inc. owned CBS. But Viacom and CBS Corp. split into two different companies in January 2006.)

Rather, the former anchorman of the “CBS Evening News,” is seeking $20 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages.

CBS spokesman Dana McClintock said: “These complaints are old news, and this lawsuit is without merit.”

Dan Rather is old news and is without merit as well.

MoveOn - Hillary - Rudy

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Rudy had a great response to MoveOn.org ”hit ad” today in the form of a political add that was just great. It made me feel a lot better about this whole disgusting mess.

h/t: The Corner

Red State had a great response as well. What If MoveOn.org Existed 65 Years Ago?

Fred Thompson had a great response as well. On the Road - Fred in Florida on MoveOn.org’s Attack on General Petraeus

With all of this piling on, maybe this is the “Jump the Shark” moment that will finally bring an end to all of this extreme and unnecessary political B.S. by these extreme left wing moonbats.

Confederate Yankee Gets a Mention

Friday, September 14th, 2007

…in the Advertising Age for his post on the MoveOn.org/New York Times conspiracy to defame and denigrate General Petraeus’ reputation.

A post on the blog Confederate Yankee soon noted the disparity. “While I’m fairly certain that nobody pays ’sticker’ prices, 61% off seems a rather sweet deal,” his post said. The New York Post picked up the story yesterday, running a piece headlined “Times Gives Lefties a Hefty Discount for ‘Betray Us’ Ad” and followed up with another article and an editorial today. “Citing the shared liberal bias of the group and the Times,” the Post wrote, “one Republican aide on Capitol Hill speculated that it was the ‘family discount.’”

Then he has this post as a follow up of how other media outlets have ran with the story.

So, for what it’s worth (less than 2 cents) Confederate Yankee, if that is your real name, great job. This Bud’s for you!

Oh and a hearty hat tip to the Blogfather, Instapundit. For without him, I would not know what the hell was going on.

Speaking of him, man does he ever have the life. We should all be so lucky. He makes about a hundred posts a day, or close to it. Gets books mailed to him on almost a daily basis. Reads probably most of them. Does Pod Casts with all sorts of famous and should be famous people. He obviously married-up with his beautiful wife who does her on blogging. Likes drinking beer and listening to cool music. Oh, and does some professoring in his spare time. Lastly I have a hard time believing that whole “Puppy Blending” thing, but it’s out there, so you never know.

Keith Olbermann - You’re An Idiot

Monday, September 10th, 2007

If anyone was actually watching this nut bag, he might could be considered dangerous. In any case he is just a big headed, sick, twisted, idiotic, freak.

Olbermann: Fox News Is More Dangerous Than AQ, Klan

Go to Hell Keith, Go to Hell…

Hsu $850,000, go back to who gave you.

Monday, September 10th, 2007

This is so funny and HIGH-larious. Hillary “Never gonna be prez” Clinton tried to quietly return $850,000 to donors who had connections with Norman Hsu and conveniently did so after the evening news had already started.

Clinton to return $850,000 raised by Hsu

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign said Monday it will return $850,000 in donations raised by Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu, who is under federal investigation for allegedly violating election laws.

Clinton, D-N.Y., previously had planned only to give to charity $23,000 she received from Hsu for her presidential and senatorial campaigns and to her political action committee, HillPac.

The FBI is investigating whether Hsu paid so-called straw donors to send campaign contributions to Clinton and other candidates, a law enforcement official said Monday.

She is so lucky that her sir name is Clinton and she is a democrat, or the media might be having a field day with this, like she were a Republican.

AP Lies About Kyoto

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

The AP lies or probably more politely “gets it wrong again” about Kyoto and George W. Bush.

Under the administration of U.S. President Bill Clinton, the United States joined a U.N. meeting in Kyoto and agreed to the protocol. But the United States rejected it under the administration of President George W. Bush, Clinton’s successor.

Big Hat Tip to Power Line Blog who had this to say:

Readers with a long memory may recall that the United States never adopted the Kyoto Protocol because the Clinton administration never submitted it for ratification to the Senate. The Clinton administration never submitted it to the Senate for ratification because in July 1997 the Senate voted 95-0 to adopt a resolution stating that ”the United States should not be a signatory to any protocol to, or other agreement regarding, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change of 1992, at negotiations in Kyoto.”

Thanks to these guys for continuing to correct the AP. This is not the first and certainly won’t be the last.

A Whole Bunch of democrats

Yet another episode of Name that Party. This time brought to you by A Blog For All

WNBC.com has learned that several of the officials were allegedly caught accepting payoffs from undercover agents in a sting operation. Others were charged as part of related corruption investigations. The accused officials served in at least three counties, including Essex, Atlantic and Passaic.

Sources told WNBC.com that those charged include Passaic Mayor Sammy Rivera, Passaic Council members Jonathan Soto and Marcellus Jackson, Orange Mayor Mims Hackett and Passaic Assemblyman Alfred Steele.

Officials said one of those charged was Passaic Mayor Sammy Rivera. Two Passaic Council members have also been charged, sources told WNBC.com.

He’s another democrat

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

h/t to Instapundit for pointing out another round of ”Name That Party” brought to you by this time, Protein Wisdom.

Rule of Thumb: If the party affiliation is not mentioned it can safely be assumed it’s a democrat.

Newsweek Corrects Itself, Sort Of

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

It was kind of odd but it seems that Newsweek has allowed an opposing view on the ridiculus article they allowed on Global Warming.

Henry Panye has the scoop over at NRO’s Planet Gore.

He’s a democrat

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Instapundit has this post on ANOTHER CHANCE TO PLAY name that party!

Well my answer is, he’s a democrat.

Throughout the entire story the party affiliation is never mentioned. I think it is in the journalist style book, that if a democrat is in trouble, never mention party affiliation or at least bury it towards the end of the article.

If it is a Republican, that is the first thing they mention.

UPDATE: according to the email comments that Glenn Reynolds posted as an update to his original post the article has been update to read “Democratic Representative Robert Filner”.

I sit amazed at the power that is Glenn Reynolds and the Instapundit Empire.

UPDATE:  Hot Air has more in a party of their on.
