Fred Thompson Meet Richard Cohen

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Richard Cohen is at it again. Writing about issues he would be best leaving alone. But I guess that is what makes him so special and so funny to read. I often think he is a closet republican working the inside to expose the lunacy of the left.

In his latest article he takes on Fred Thompson and his support of the Second Amendment. Yes that amendment. The one the Left often forgets exists.

Thompson on Horseback

First Richard takes issue with Fred Thompson on the Virginia Tech Shootings:

This is how Thompson articulated his anti-gun-control position recently on National Review Online. According to Thompson, the horrible massacre at Virginia Tech ( 32 dead) proved not that the shooter should have been in some sort of tightly controlled mental-health program or that it was too easy in Virginia for a nut to buy semiautomatic weapons, but — incredibly enough — that there were too few guns on campus. If the university did not prohibit guns, students would have been able “to protect themselves” — presumably by reaching into their backpacks and gunning down the shooter.

Then explains why he has a gun himself:

Mind you, while I subscribe to the Marshal Dillon Rule, I am on record as being sympathetic to those who like to keep a gun in the house. This is because I was burglarized one very dark night by a klutz of a thief who burst though my back door and ran around the first floor making so much noise that I was certain he was coming for me. (This was before the deranged had recourse to e-mail.) I very much wanted a gun — not to whack the intruder but merely to protect my life.

So he can appreciate himself having a gun for self protection, but is confused as to why Fred Thompson would advocate students enjoying that same self protection.

That’s Richard Cohen for you. Making the case for the Second Amendment while arguing against. That can only be done from the Leftist perspective.

The Lefts Wish for John Roberts

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Today came the news of Chief Justice John Roberts slip, fall and ride to the hospital.

Chief Justice Roberts Suffers Seizure

Chief Justice John Roberts suffered a seizure at his summer home in Maine on Monday, causing a fall that resulted in minor scrapes, Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said.

He will remain in a hospital in Maine overnight.

“It’s my understanding he’s fully recovered, said Christopher Burke, a spokesman for Penobscot Bay Medical Center, where Roberts was taken.

I wish him well in his recovery.

Some on the left wish him otherwise.

Live Earth: for Donuts

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

That is the first thing that came to mind when I tuned in to Bravo. Donuts!

Yes it is true, there is nothing that these magical sugary concoctions can’t do.

To include making Algore look 30 years younger. Can you believe that this is the photo that these losers are using on the Live Earf site.

It is tragic to see Algore and all of his looney friends depreciate in value right before our very eyes.

Jimmy Carter Should Not Throw Stones

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Seems that Jimmy “The Rabbit” Carter has managed to run off at the mouth again.

Jimmy Carter Backtracks
on Calling Bush Administration Worst in U.S. History

CRAWFORD, Texas —  Former President Jimmy Carter backed off Monday from harshly
critical comments he made of President Bush over the weekend after the White House
offered a biting rebuke to the former president by calling him “increasingly irrelevant.”

“My remarks were maybe careless or misinterpreted but I wasn’t comparing the overall
administration and certainly not talking about anyone personally,” Carter said in
an interview Monday when asked to explain.

The comments “were interpreted as comparing this whole administration to all other
administrations when what I was actually doing was responding to a question about
foreign policy between [President Richard] Nixon and this administration, and I think
that this administration’s foreign policy compared to Nixon’s was much worse. …
I wasn’t comparing this administration with other administrations throughout history
but just with President Nixon’s,” he told NBC’s “The Today Show.”

Jimmy Carter has nothing to fear, his lock on being the worst of the last 10 U.S.
Presidents is secure.

The guys at Cox & Forkum picture Jimmy perfectly.

H.R. 808: Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Those wacky democrats are up to it again. They are trying to establish what they refer to as “H.R. 808: Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act”. These guys are soooooo lame. If they knew anything in the first place they would already realize this department already exists. It is called The Department of Defense. That’s right, the DoD. It’s main responsibility is to keep the peace. If at anytime their is not peace, it will be ordered by the President of the United States/Commander in Chief to go forth and break things to include the will of the enemy, until that peace is restored.

Please refer to TigerHawk for more on this.

When a bias WaPo reporter really speaks his mind

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

THE PERIL OF A NEWSPAPER BLOG “…is that a reporter might say what he actually thinks before an editor catches up with him and makes him stop.”

William M. Arkin telling us what he and most of the MSM really feel.

Still they say “what bias”.

Kerry Shows Off His True Colors In Davos

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

The following puts on display why John F’ing Kerry makes a horrible senator and would
have made an even worse president. Thank God for small miracles that he was never
elected.

From the Captain’s Quarters: Kerry Slams US In Davos Summit

“There’s something about the Davos economic summit that drives American leftists
to slam their own country while abroad. Two years ago, Eason Jordan lost his job at
CNN over his accusations in Davos that the US military had a policy of assassinating
journalists in war zones. Today, John Kerry used the forum to scold the Bush administration
for its foreign policy while specifying two issues that predate it:”

Hot Air has Video of this despicable display of an American Traitor trying to out do Jimmy Carter.

One Less Place to look for Discount Mattresses

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Well considering that I am planning on replacing my mattress this year, it is getting
rather old, I have found one place to scratch off the list of places to look.

From Fox News: Web Site
Kicks Sand in Faces of GIs in Iraq Asking for Mats to Ease Hardship of Sleeping on
Ground

“We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq.
If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Bargain Suppliers
Discount-Mats.com”

Khetani on Monday told FOX News that the person responsible for the email reply
had been fired. The Web site, meanwhile, has been temporarily taken down.”

1-800-Mattress and Sams Club, it looks as though it is between the two of you.

If Only The democrats had a Soul

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

…maybe then they could understand why it is with the utmost importance that we see
this thing through in Iraq. Instead they choose to play politics with the troops and
the citizens of Iraq.

One day real soon this is all going to be over with and the President will finally
get the credit he deserves. The main reason that so many people of America are down
on this thing is because the MSM and the democrats are doing all they can, to distort
anything and everything they can. But, the truth will eventually come about and of
course the democrats will be labeled as they truly should be, liberal cowards.

That’s about all I have to say about this at this time.

Peace Freaks Turn on democrats

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

I still hope that one day the world will realize that the real people that make peace
happen are the ones with the big guns and not the ones with crappy slogans.

From Fox News: Sheehan,
Iraq War Protesters Break Up House Democrats’ Press Conference

“Chanting “de-escalate, investigate, troops home now,” the protesters disrupted
a briefing aimed at outlining priority goals when Democrats take over the House and
Senate on Thursday.”

…and so the worm turns. Good luck with all that democrats. You deserve each other.

Human Rights Watch Proves Their Worthlessness

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

From their website comes this on the report of Saddam’s death:

“Human Rights Watch has for more than 15 years documented the human rights crimes committed by Hussein’s former government, and has campaigned to bring the perpetrators to justice. These crimes include the killing of more than 100,000 Iraqi Kurds in Northern Iraq as part of the 1998 Anfal campaign.
“Saddam Hussein was responsible for massive human rights violations, but that can’t justify giving him the death penalty, which is a cruel and inhuman punishment,” said Richard Dicker, director of Human Rights Watch’s International Justice Program.”

It is probably me, but I just don’t get it.

Hugo Chavez Speaking for the Kooks on the Left

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

The left in this country should feel proud they have a voice speaking for them at the disfunctional United Nations.

California: What To Expect From The Left

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Universal Health-care being an abject failure every time is has been tried you would
think that people would stop trying to implement anything like it. You would wrong.
Just look at what our fellow citizens are doing in California.

From the AP via MecuryNews.com: California
Assembly passes bill to provide universal health care

SACRAMENTO - The Assembly narrowly approved a bill Monday that would provide health
insurance to all residents, a move that would make California the only state to offer
government-operated universal health care.

The bill, which passed the 80-member house on a largely party-line vote of 43-30,
received strong Democratic backing. But supporters say pressure from the insurance
industry and Republican lawmakers is likely to doom the measure when it reaches Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Sure, the government can’t keep the budget out of the red and sure kids have to ride
on buses that use pot-holed riddled roads to failing government schools but surely
they can manage and health-care systems.

Imagine it, soon the same folks that manage the DMV will be managing your health-care.

Good luck with that.

Venezuela: What To Expect From The Left

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

In the following article is what one can expect to receive when one lets the Left/Liberal/Socialist/Communist
have power over society.

From the BBC: Venezuela
to seize golf courses

The mayor of Venezuela’s capital Caracas says he plans to expropriate two exclusive
golf courses and use the land for homes for the city’s poor.

Mayor Juan Barreto has said playing golf on lavish courses within sight of the
city’s slums is “shameful”.

Mr Barreto, an ally of President Hugo Chavez, has been trying to address
a dramatic housing shortage in Caracas
.

Why not try and put them to work and giving them a descent chance of doing for themselves.

Remember Chavez is a Hero of Cindy Sheehan.

Peace Activists Hypocritical Agenda

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Thankfully for great writers
like Cal Thomas
, I have someone that can put into words the feeling that I have
with the real agenda of the so called peace activists.

The motive of the activists was exposed in a statement from Christian Peacemaker
Teams, under whose auspices Mr. Fox and the others traveled to Iraq. Spokeswoman Jessica
Phillips said, “We believe that the root cause of the abduction of our colleagues
is the U.S.- and British-led invasion and occupation of Iraq.”

Strange thing about these peace movements: They rarely mobilize to oppose the
killing, torture and imprisonment practiced by dictators. It is only when their own
country attempts to end the oppression that the activists become active against America,
not the initiators of evil. Peace, like happiness, is a byproduct, not a goal that
can be unilaterally attained. Peace happens when evil is vanquished.

After all, when was the last time these other so called ”peace activists
really brought about any peace. The only thing they really manage to do is keep dictators
in power. That is not something to be proud of.

It has always been my opinion that the true peace activists have been the men and
women in the military.
