From their website comes this on the report of Saddam’s death:
“Human Rights Watch has for more than 15 years documented the human rights crimes committed by Hussein’s former government, and has campaigned to bring the perpetrators to justice. These crimes include the killing of more than 100,000 Iraqi Kurds in Northern Iraq as part of the 1998 Anfal campaign.
“Saddam Hussein was responsible for massive human rights violations, but that can’t justify giving him the death penalty, which is a cruel and inhuman punishment,” said Richard Dicker, director of Human Rights Watch’s International Justice Program.”
It is probably me, but I just don’t get it.

Universal Health-care being an abject failure every time is has been tried you would
think that people would stop trying to implement anything like it. You would wrong.
Just look at what our fellow citizens are doing in California.

SACRAMENTO – The Assembly narrowly approved a bill Monday that would provide health
insurance to all residents, a move that would make California the only state to offer
government-operated universal health care.
The bill, which passed the 80-member house on a largely party-line vote of 43-30,
received strong Democratic backing. But supporters say pressure from the insurance
industry and Republican lawmakers is likely to doom the measure when it reaches Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Sure, the government can’t keep the budget out of the red and sure kids have to ride
on buses that use pot-holed riddled roads to failing government schools but surely
they can manage and health-care systems.
Imagine it, soon the same folks that manage the DMV will be managing your health-care.

The mayor of Venezuela’s capital Caracas says he plans to expropriate two exclusive
golf courses and use the land for homes for the city’s poor.
Mayor Juan Barreto has said playing golf on lavish courses within sight of the
city’s slums is “shameful”.
Mr Barreto, an ally of President Hugo Chavez, has been trying to address
a dramatic housing shortage in Caracas.
Why not try and put them to work and giving them a descent chance of doing for themselves.
Remember Chavez is a Hero of Cindy Sheehan.

Thankfully for great writers
like Cal Thomas, I have someone that can put into words the feeling that I have
with the real agenda of the so called peace activists.
The motive of the activists was exposed in a statement from Christian Peacemaker
Teams, under whose auspices Mr. Fox and the others traveled to Iraq. Spokeswoman Jessica
Phillips said, “We believe that the root cause of the abduction of our colleagues
is the U.S.- and British-led invasion and occupation of Iraq.”
Strange thing about these peace movements: They rarely mobilize to oppose the
killing, torture and imprisonment practiced by dictators. It is only when their own
country attempts to end the oppression that the activists become active against America,
not the initiators of evil. Peace, like happiness, is a byproduct, not a goal that
can be unilaterally attained. Peace happens when evil is vanquished.
After all, when was the last time these other so called ”peace activists”
really brought about any peace. The only thing they really manage to do is keep dictators
in power. That is not something to be proud of.
It has always been my opinion that the true peace activists have been the men and
women in the military.

From The Washington Post: Belafonte Says Bush Misleads
NEW YORK, Jan. 21 — Entertainer Harry Belafonte, one of the Bush administration’s harshest critics, compared the Homeland Security Department to the Nazi Gestapo on Saturday and attacked the president as a liar.
“We’ve come to this dark time in which the new Gestapo of Homeland Security lurks here, where citizens are having their rights suspended,” Belafonte said in a speech to the annual conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
“You can be arrested and not charged. You can be arrested and have no right to counsel,” said Belafonte.
He really should be committed for evaluation for BDS, but as long as he serves the agenda of the left, Blaming Bush for Everything, he will be left to ramble on with his insanity.

While Judge Alito continues to improve his chances in becoming confirmed to the Supreme Court, the moonbats on the left continue to lose more of their mind.
From The NY Times: Liberal Groups to Release Ads Attacking Court Pick
WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 – The battle over the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. turned personal Wednesday with the announcement of new commercials that sharply escalated liberal attacks on him, moving beyond his legal views to attack his character and credibility instead.
The commercials come less than a week before confirmation hearings begin Monday. Steve Schmidt, a White House spokesman handling the nomination, called the commercials “dishonest” and “a desperation tactic.”
Separately, the American Bar Association on Wednesday rated Judge Alito “well qualified” for the court, its highest rating, as expected. His supporters hailed the rating. Liberal groups said their complaint was his judicial philosophy, not his professional qualifications.

First, I know that is not going to happen. If we impeached every democrat that did
or said something stupid in congress — well there would be none left. I am sure that
the fine folks in Detroit, that keep sending him back won’t think the same,
but I can honestly say I am glad he is not my representative.

Wants Bush and Cheney Censured
WASHINGTON – Rep. John Conyers D-Mich., called Tuesday for Congress to censure
President Bush and Vice President Cheney, saying they misled lawmakers on the decision
to go to war in Iraq.
Conyers, the senior Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, introduced resolutions
creating a panel to investigate the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq war
and separate measures censuring Bush and Cheney.
So instead of doing something beneficial for his constituents in Detroit, he is going
to introduce something that is going to go nowhere. Try all he might, the democrats
are in the minority — where they deserve to be — and this will hardly make it past
“not a chance in hell”.
The best part of the article was this:
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Ann Marie Hauser said if Conyers “spent
half the time condemning terrorism that he does condemning the President of the United
States, he would be a credible voice in the war on terror.”
Nice to hear some Republicans have the nerve to say such a thing.

That’s right, activists, dressed up as elves entered a Florida Wal-Mart and started handing out presents. These presents were purposely left empty and when some of the children opened them they started to cry.

WakeUpWalMart.com is a union-affiliated group that says it wants to change the way Wal-Mart does business.
As part of the “Health Care for Mommy” protest, activists were handing out gift boxes to children – but the boxes were empty, and that reportedly made some of the kids cry.
Wal-Mart said the protesters refused to leave the store until police arrived, and that’s when the shoving allegedly broke out.
Good going guys, you made children cry. Does that make you feel good? Did that help your case? Making children cry.
So there you have it, unions will have you do business their way or they will obstruct your business. This is America, not France. These guys would really be happier in socialist or communist countries. Places where business and the economy is suppressed for the sake of the worker. Places where the worker likes turning their responsibilities and welfare over to the state. Places where the unemployment rates are much higher and the standard of living is much lower.

From the AP: U.S. Activists Trek Toward Guantanamo
HAVANA – American activists reached the halfway point in a long trek toward the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay to protest treatment of terror suspects, but it appeared unlikely the communist government would let them enter a Cuban military zone to reach the U.S. outpost.
Marchers from the largely Christian group, Witness Against Torture, said by cellular telephone on Thursday that they had completed about half of the 50-mile trek from the eastern city of Santiago.
The 25 marchers, who set out Wednesday, hope to arrive at — or at least near to — the naval base by Saturday, which is International Human Rights Day. The march was organized by the Catholic Worker movement, an anti-war and social justice alliance.
These moonbats obviously have no since of direction, it is Havana they should be marching towards. That is were they can find some real torture. But hey, they’re moonbats, they have a reputation to keep up.

The liberal political group MoveOn.org has yanked a video ad from its website
after being criticized for using images of British soldiers to represent Americans
in Iraq.
The 30-second ad, which also began running on CNN and cable stations during the
Thanksgiving weekend, stated that “150,000 American men and women are stuck in Iraq”
this holiday season.
But the ad showed soldiers who were “not wearing U.S. uniforms,” according to
a Pentagon spokesman who was interviewed by Cybercast News Service Wednesday, approximately
two hours before the Internet version of the ad was pulled from the MoveOn.org website.
You gotta hate to see things like this happen to moonbats. Just kidding. If only they
were dealing with reality and truth things like this would probably not happen as
much.

The moonbat hostages that were kidnapped in Iraq by terrorists the other day are blaming
the US and the UK. Saying it is all our fault terrorists abducted their fellow
moonbats. So typical.
On Tuesday, Al-Jazeera broadcast video of the four men held by a previously unknown
group calling itself the Swords of Righteousness Brigade. The group claimed they were
spies working under the cover of Christian peace activists.
Christian Peacemaker Teams said it was saddened by the videotape of their workers,
who the statement said were working against the occupation of Iraq.
“We are angry because what has happened to our teammates is the result of the
actions of the U.S. and U.K. government due to the illegal attack on Iraq and the
continuing occupation and oppression of its people,” the group said.
Maybe when the moonbats figure out the real problem they have, they will be able to
do something about it.
I will not be holding my breath though.

Well probably not really. I hear she is like this all of the time. When I listen to Rush Limbaugh and he starts in on another Katrina Vanden Heuvel story and now that I have seen this video over at The Political Teen it all makes perfect sense.
She really is a loon. A true moonbat. Unbelievably so!
Her and The Nation go really well together I must say.
Now I know why Rush makes such fun of her all the time.
Sadly she represents the mainstream of the democrat party, I think.
