WattHead Drives Readers To My Little Blog

Friday, August 10th, 2007

I did this post on Ted Kennedy howling at wind mills and gave a Hat Tip to WattHead for the You Tube video from the Daily Show. Little did I know, but that link drove a number of visitors to my little blog here. Granted, not as many as when I am most fortunate to be linked by the Blogfather, Glenn Reynolds but certainly more than I am accustom. For several days.

I am also still getting click-thru’s from that Simpsons Movie Review that the Blogfather link to. Just a few, but still.

So I just wanted to give a shameless plug and thank the purveyors of WattHead for the click-thru’s.

Right on the Right on Rush

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

Just thought I would make this post for this young fellow, Justin of Real Teen - Right on the Right who made it on Rush Last week. Here is a post he made after his site came back from the onslaught of traffic. Rush was very impressed with his story and even offered him a couple of Rush 24/7 memberships for him and his dad.

His dad seems to be giving him a hard time for being a right thinking teen. He sounded like he is standing strong for his beliefs and not backing down.

Good going Justin, don’t back down.

Blockbuster Online Is Cool

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

I have to comment on the exceptional service that I have been getting with my Blockbuster.com Online rental account.

I noticed recently that the turn around on my videos has been really quick. So quick, that they are receiving and sending videos from my queue within 2 days most times. It seems that Blockbuster has recently started to utilize it’s local brick and mortars to distribute videos. Typically I receive my videos from local stores here in my area. Last time from St. Louis.

I imagine that they are using their centralized computing power to determine what locations have inventory that are closest to my domicile and sending them from there. I say this because of the return addresses on the envelopes are nearby, as opposed to Dallas Texas or somewhere in Georgia.

However the magic is done, I certainly appreciate the quick turn around.

Donatos Pizza

Saturday, December 3rd, 2005

I like it, I love it and I want more of it.

Me and the boys made our second visit to the newly opened Donatos Pizza up from the homestead. Actually this was the third time we have acquired pizza from this location. The second time was when I called up on my way home from work and slid by the drive up to take it home.

Donatos happens to also be the choice of pizza for my employer.

I like their Serious Meat Pizza with the thin crust.

That is all.

La Shawn Barber Nails It

Monday, October 10th, 2005

One of the blogs I always find an interesting read is La Shawn Barber’s site. This morning I read this very interesting post she had on Insulation. This topic deals with the rich, their money, the government and illegal immigration.

One of the advantages of wealth is that it insulates you from the negative effects of wrong-headed governmental policies and cultural detritus. For instance, rich politicians and Hollywood types can get the best health care money can buy. The average person working 9-5 or more usually has to take whatever his employer offers unless he can afford extra coverage. The rich don’t have to trek to government hospitals already gutted by uninsured illegal aliens for treatment.

Please read the whole thing.

Thanks La Shawn for the great post.

Inside Cable News

Thursday, September 15th, 2005

This is just a shameless plug for someone I do not know, never met and never heard of until that guy over at TV Newser tried to pick a nit with him one day. Since then I have been keeping up with his blog and enjoying his wrap up of the numbers of the cable nets on a daily basis.

So to whoever you are, ICN guy, keep up the good work.

That is all…
