Marion County Special Election

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Well today we had a special election in Marion County to elect the replacement for Julia Carson (democrat).

Jon Elrod is the young Republican running to replace her and running against Andre’ Carson the democrat and Sean Sheppard the 3rd party guy.

I voted for Jon and was glad to do so. Now if a majority of others did the same thing to keep from electing the grandson of the late Julia Carson, that would be grand.

Here’s hoping.

The results can be found here.

As of the post, here are the results:

............Jon Elrod.....Andre' Carson......Sean Sheppard..........pct rpt
 7:00 pm...........42................32..................4..........( .45)
 7:30 pm.........1588..............1421.................93..........( 6.29)
 8:03 pm.........3901..............4370................232..........(18.65)

10:01 pm........18064.............21152...............1191..........(61.80)

UPDATE: Well that is it for tonight. I will check back in the morning and hope for the best in my dreams.

UPDATE II: Andre’ Carson Wins and I lose. Will try again in May and November. I wish I could do more to support the candidates but alas I cannot.

Bush Enodrses McCain

So What!

McCain The Spineless

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I am now aware of two occasions in which McCain The Spineless has come out to rebuke the words from supporters who had choice words for the democrats in the election. This is the first and this is the second.

“I just wanted to observe, when you mentioned the 3 o’clock phone call, that unlike other candidates in the race, if Cindy answers the phone she won’t be wondering where her husband is,’’ the man said to laughter and cheers.

Mr. McCain immediately moved to disassociate himself from the joke.

“Please let me say sir, that Americans want us to have a respectful campaign,’’ he said, to applause. “I respect Senator Clinton, I respect Senator Obama, and I don’t associate myself, even though it was meant in humor, and I want to assure you that what they will have, and what they want, is a respectful campaign.’’

This illustrates so well why I do not like McCain and the RNC in general. While the DNC has yet to throw it’s full weight of hate against McCain and his campaign, does anyone out there truly think that they will be apologizing every time their supporters spew hateful things about us.  If that were the case then the DNC, Obama and Clinton would be spending the vast majority of time apologizing.

Do they, have they apologized once for all of the hatefull things they have said about President Bush.

If McCain thinks he is going make gains by turning the other cheek , he should be informed that he only has two cheeks and they have both been slapped too many time to count. If McCain continues to try and please everyone, he will have pissed off so many by November, not enough will be left to give him what he most desires.

Trying to stay clean while wrestling a bunch of pigs…well you know the rest.

Americans elect men to the highest office in the land. Not wimps afraid to piss some people off.

Republicans: Vote Clinton

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

In a effort to keep Hillary in the running. Some folks are suggesting that the Republicans in Texas and Ohio vote for Clinton. This would continue the in-fighting with in the democrat ranks.

It certainly would not be a bad vote. McCain is the nominee for the Republicans and so coting Clinton is not going to actually change that.

So get out there and vote. I sure wish I could. If this keeps up, Indiana might just end up having a voice in the primaries for a change.

McCain/Obama begin sparing

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

The differences between the apparent nominees is starting to show. As Obama shows his lack of experience, it shines a light on McCain’s years of experience dealing with the realities of working in Washington.

“On the issue of my differences with Senator Obama on Iraq, I want to make it very clear: This is not about decisions that were made in the past,” said Mr. McCain, of Arizona. “This is about decisions that a president will have to make about the future in Iraq. And a decision to unilaterally withdraw from Iraq will lead to chaos.”

Mr. McCain, the likely Republican nominee for president, was reacting to Mr. Obama’s response to a hypothetical question in a debate in Cleveland on Tuesday night, when Mr. Obama, of Illinois, said that although he intended to withdraw American forces as quickly as possible, he reserved the right to send troops back in if Al Qaeda was forming a base in Iraq.

“Al Qaeda is there now,” Mr. McCain said in Houston, with a tone of belittlement in his voice. “So to state that somehow if Al Qaeda were there that he would consider going back militarily is really a remarkable comment, and I don’t think displays an understanding of the size of the threat and what’s at stake in Iraq.”

Let the games begin. Gosh I will be glad when it’s over.  This roller coaster has already been going on too long and I am ready to get off.

Obama: I did mean what I said

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

…but only to those that I said it.

Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have been critical of the long-standing North American Free Trade Agreement over the course of the Democratic primaries, saying that the deal has cost U.S. workers’ jobs.

Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama’s campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.

The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.

This is so typical political. No one should be surprised with this. If you are, then you are not really paying attention.

Obama: Jimmy Carter Redux

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Well hopefully with one less aspect. Winning!

Late in the summer of 1976, President Gerald Ford and his inner circle huddled in Vail, Colorado, facing the grimmest general election outlook for a Republican since the L.B.J. landslide of ‘64.

An unelected president, Ford had barely secured the Republican nomination against a fierce challenge from Ronald Reagan, leaving the party’s conservative base dispirited and even more distrustful of Ford than they already had been. And the stench of Watergate—and Ford’s politically damaging pardon of Richard Nixon—stubbornly hung in the air. After eight years of Republican rule, an amorphous but potent yearning for change had taken hold.

At the Vail strategy session, the Ford team zeroed in on the chief vulnerabilities of their Democratic opponent, Jimmy Carter: His lack of experience, his lack of accomplishments and his lack of specificity on the issues. These had to be exploited mercilessly.

And they were. Ten weeks later, Ford came within an eyelash of a political miracle. After trailing by 33 points around Labor Day, he was edged out by a handful of electoral votes—and just two points in the popular vote. If the campaign had lasted even a week longer, many believe, Ford would have won.

The one difference the author does not mention is the lack of the Fairness Doctrine which has led to the new media. This should allow for Obama’s experience and the lack thereof to be realized well before November arrives.

Let’s hope.

Obamamania in decline

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Well here is more talk of the ‘wave’ that Obama has been riding coming to an end.

Hey, it did not last forever for Jim Jones. It won’t last for Obama either.

Michelle Obama: Are you sure about that?

Monday, February 18th, 2008

In ref to this from Breitbart.tv: Michelle Obama: ‘For the First Time in My Adult Lifetime, I Am Really Proud of My Country’

“What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something — for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I’ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it’s made me proud.”

Well if this is the first time then she must have been in a comma for the last twenty years, not to mention the last 250 as plainly stated in this post at The Corner.

I think she just answered the question of how she feels about the country she wants to be First Lady of.

As I told my buddy at work, a “Big Storm” is headed Obama’s way in the next month or so. This is not going to help then weather the storm.

Indiana Thought/Hate Crimes Bill

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Well I for one am thankful that this awful bit of legislation is going to be kept from passing. For me, Hates Crimes are bogus and amount up to nothing more that thought crimes and that gives me the creeps, As in Tom Cruise Minority Report creepy. Also it is just another part of the liberal agenda that should never see the light of day.

Hate crimes bill appears dead this session

A bill that would create a hate crimes law in Indiana would die in the House before a key deadline this week, its author said, and he did not expect it to be revived this session.

Porter said Indiana was one of only five states without hate crimes laws, and if one were to pass, it would show that Indiana “is a place to live and work for everybody.”

I am OK with Indiana being one of only five states not to have fallen for this crock of bad legislation.

I am not sure where this Porter lives in Indiana, but from here in Indianapolis, it seems to be very accommodating to all that dwell within. Even if you are an idiot that happens to be a liberal.

A Bad Choice for President

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Well seeing that my first and second choice for President are out of the race and the nomination will probably be locked up by the time the Indiana Primary rolls around. It appears that I am stuck with McCain.

Unless he convinces me he is worthy of my vote by November, I will be writing my vote in. In any event I will certainly be voting to put the most conservative Reps in to hold him to his word.

Barack ‘Che’ Obama

Monday, February 11th, 2008

It is just funny when things like this are allowed to see the light of day from behind the democrat curtain. These are the kind of things democrats don’t like everyone knowing about.
